Grandpa and Grammy Andrews came to visit us (actually Addy) for two weeks. We had such a great time. Addy loves her grandparents and was all smiles the whole time they were here. Grammy made fantastic suppers night after night and Darons Dad got worked to death (as usual). As many of you know, I have wanted an art studio "A room of my own" for a long time. I finally decided that a normal shed that I could add to and work on would be perfect. So Daron, being the fabulous husband that he is, surprised me by having a shed delivered to the house one day while I was at work. The best part, Darons Dad who is so amazingly talented and skilled was here. Daron's parents gave me my birthday money early and took Addy to St. George to buy windows for the studio. Talk about nice, wonderful and terrific. They are amazing. Addy is so lucky to have two sets of amazing grandparents (Daron and I are very lucky too). Look closely at the shed because in the next photos it will look completely different.

So it appears that my dad is a little better shot than me with his dad's old .22....

Addy's Mimi and Grandpa had to go back home last week. Addy and her parents were thrilled to have them visit for 9 weeks! Addyson was absolutely smitten with her Grandpa he better watch his wallet when she starts shopping! Addyson was equally infatuated with Mimi and her great taste in hotels! She misses them but knows they will return - soon we hope! Daron and I learned a lot about caring for Miss Addy from my parents and had a hot dinner and clean laundry every night when we got home. Now I see why people have multiple children... Just kidding!
Addyson stays home with Daddy on Tuesdays and Thursdays but on Monday mornings and Wednesday afternoons she and her Mommy go up to the Best Friends Humane Education office. We could work from home but Addy loves to take a drive and visit Glen, Sandy and Barbara at the office. Besides someone has to take the meeting minutes on Mondays! Sandy even brought a rocking chair in for Addy and her Mom to use! The pack and play is a permanent fixture now and the office cat, Spotty, is still trying to figure out what exactly Addy is! Spotty is use to people bringing their pets to work but a human baby has really thrown him for a loop!

TA DA - It's Addy!

I don't know how Daron and I created such a good looking baby but I am sure glad we did! Addyson is just over 5 months and changing every day. She cracks up at Zeena and loves to play peek a boo. She can entertain herself for hours with her toes! Although she's a good sleeper Daron and I are still walking around like Zombies. In fact, my Mom and Dad, Daron and Addy met me up at Best Friends for lunch and Daron poured himself a glass of water. My Dad was patiently waiting for the caraf so he could pour himself some water. Daron started drinking out of the caraf. If you could have seen the look on my Dad's face - priceless. It was a mix between "What the hell are you doing and I hope no one else is seeing this!" Yes, the beverly hillbillys have arrived folks. I can't blame him though. When you are sleep deprived you forget all sorts of things.

Addy was an angel when we went out to breakfast. We all ate at the same time! Prior to the meal she and Mimi sang songs and the photo is Addy saying "I'm Queen of the world!" (ok,she can't talk yet so Mimi said it for her!) . During breakfast, we all agreed that Addy is the 25 inch ruler!
Grandpa had a great time visiting the old Western Movie Sets. Our landlord actually owns Movie Town which is about a mile from the house. I think Granpa would have made a great cowboy.

Addy was checking out every part of her new bouncy seat that her Dad got her. She wasn't quite sure what to make of it. She wore her pink and brown guitar moccasins from Auntie Karen!
Addy, who is now 5 months old has decided that the bouncy seat is pretty great. Doesn't she look like she is saying "Thank you Daddy I wuv you" She is also excited to know that her Daddy will be home Tuesdays and Thursdays and her Mommy will be home with her Monday, Wednesday and Friday. In fact, my office has made an Addy Room and I plan to take her up for 1/2 days on Wednesdays and maybe Fridays. We'll see how she likes the office, I am more concerned that she might fuss and irritate my coworkers. If she does I guess we will just head back to the house and I will work from there!

One of Addy's first friends visited her this week. The little girl named Joi (I think) is 3 1/2 months old. Stacie (her mom) and I were in prenatal classes together. We feel very lucky to have had easy labors and beautiful healthy girls. We both decided that we LOVE epidurals, too!
Grandpa Nagle met one of his hero's this past weekend at Western Legends. His name is Hugh O'Brian and he starred in a variety of movies including Wyatt Earp. Hugh signed a photo to Grandpa and nicknamed him Top Gun. He must have known Grandpa appreciates a nice glock either that or he saw the size of my Dads biceps or "guns" as some folks call them. As for the old couple in front of Hugh - I have no idea who they are!
Mimi, looking stunning as usual, got a photo taken with Ed Faulkner who has been in RawHide, Have Gun...Will Travel,The Shakiest Gun in the West, and Bonanza to name a few! I think Ed was as tickled to have his photo with Mom as she was with him. They also saw Clint Walker who has not only done a bunch of westerns but comedy, drama and adventure movies.

Turn up your volume and try not to smile.

Addy just loves loves loves of all things carrots... She also shows an affinity for green beans, peas, long walks up to the cemetary in her Bob carriage, and long swings with her Mimi and Mommy at the park. But carrots really sent her over the top the first time she tried them. The little baby spoon just couldn't get it to her efficiently enough so she just grabbed the bowl and went to town!

I cannot believe that Mom and Dad are heading back to Florida in less than two weeks. They have spoiled Daron and I by taking care of Addy, doing laundry, taking care of the yard and cooking dinner every single night! That is only a few things that they have done for us. One neat thing they have been able to do on their trips back and forth is visit my Mom's Cousin Maureen and her family in Pheonix AZ. Here a couple of pictures of their recent visits with Maureen, Michael, Zach and Andrea.
We hope that one day they will be able to make the trek here to Kanab and Best Friends as they are HUGE animal lovers.

Addy enjoyed watching the Pow Wow and meeting Daron's coworkers and friends. Unfortunatley, she cried when Tim held her but otherwise she was quite the trooper!

Addyson is eating baby food now thanks to Mimi. She seems to like peas and green beans but not the sweet stuff like pears and peaches. That's my girl! Mimi and Grandpa have introduced her to the city park where she has had a blast swinging. In fact, Mimi wanted Daron and I to go and see how much she enjoyed the swing. She was so tired by the time Daron got home from work that she almost fell asleep in the swing! Mimi and I have been taking her to the city pool and she loves it. The photos above however are from our trip to The Wynn hotel in Vegas. She isn't even 5 months old and she is leaning forward to swim.

Riley has been here since before I started working here at the sanctuary and the little dog caught my eye and I had to share his story. Addy has made her first trip to Vegas, and I think she loved it! As a gift from Mimi and Grandpa Nagle (a very gracious gift indeed) we took the family to Vegas for a 3 night stay at the Wynn Casino and hotel. It appears that for a 5 month old Vegas is one really cool experience with all the noises, lights, faces, and yes, THE POOL!! Addy hardly cried one time while we were there, and she was the main attraction at the pool. People sure are nicer to you when you have a cute little baby girl with you... Jen and I were also treated to a great show, "Le Reve" at the Wynn. Jennifer loved the "man tree" and I wanted to get in and dive with the performers. Mary and Brian went to "Jersey Boys" and totally loved it, and I believe they would HIGHLY recommend it to future Vegas visitors. Here are a few pics, mostly at the pool.
