Here are some great photos of Kristy, Addy and my visit to Zion and Bryce Canyon. I had the best time with Kristy. In fact, it was perfect except for the last night. The last night I found out that Kristy and my husband, Daron, are...both REPUBLICANS! The horror! Although it was a shock and a bit unsettling I figured if I can still love Daron then I can still love Kristy. I did however turn into bed early so I could read "The Audacity of Hope" by Barack Obama. Yup, I shuffled off mumbling "I still have hope..."

My Best Friend Kristy flew into town and we had a great time. She helped me with Addy especially in the morning which was a dream come true! I took Addy and Kristy on their first tour of Best Friends, Zion and St. George. On Saturday Addy stayed with her dad and Kristy and I went to Bryce Canyon. It was the first time for both of us which made it even more special. Next blog post will be all about Kristy and her visit.























Kristy was holding Addy and she was smiling. It turned out to be the best Addy photo yet. Unfortunately, Kristy had her eyes half closed and was reaching for her tennis shoe so she would have killed me if I didn't crop her out!




















As a mom I have learned that multitasking takes on a WHOLE new meaning. Not only can I hold the baby and work on the computer I have walked down the street nursing the baby, gone to the bathroom while nursing and eaten many meals while holding and nursing the baby. Addy is feeding from a bottle now so Dad gets to enjoy the art of multitasking as well!
























As a mom you get very creative when it comes to calming a crying baby. I think I have found a way to work out while I do it. Here I am doing a squat swing combo!

























Not only is Jill cute as a button she has been a LIFESAVER! She has a son that is about 6 months older than Addy. She has given us a swing and a bassinet for the bed that has truly been a gift! She has also answered many of my new mom questions and been so encouraging and helpful. We love Jill!

KRISTY MADE IT!

Kristy flew from Houston to Denver to Farmington, NM to Page, AZ and Addyson and I picked her up. We were very excited to see her! She looked absolutely beautiful and it was as if no time had passed! Although it looked like Kristy actually flew the plane she was just posing for a photo in the Beechcraft 190. I think that the pilots thought she was pretty (wink, wink). Anyhow, when we made it back to Kanab we didn't miss a beat in toasting to a safe trip and our friendship!

Happy 35th Daron!

Well big D is now 35 - yikes!  Since I am older than D it is hard to get excited about him getting older! ha.  We had some friends over to celebrate and he was able to golf 9 holes with Jon in the afternoon.   He also spent some time with Addyson and they are my FAVORITE photos of the two of them so far!  Addy was able to join the party before drifting off to sleep.  Our friend Heidi was happy to hold her at the festivities.

Happy Mothers Day!

Today is my first official mothers day as a mom.  I think Addyson knew that today was mothers day because she has been an angel all day long.  Her Grandmother bought her a pretty pink flowered dress to wear on this special day.  Her Grandfather has a wonderful camera that takes good clear photos (great for showing Addysons smooth skin, not great for exposing her moms wrinkles!) Anyhow, what do they say?  It is all about the baby after you have kids :)

More Addy photos!

Daron's parents asked Daron what he wanted for his birthday and you might be surprised by his answer. Think about it. Daron has a new baby and a dog that is afraid loud noises so, of course, he asked for an electronic drum set. It is a bit quieter than Guitar Hero as he can wear headphones although nothing can cover up the pat pat boom pat boom. I have discovered that Daron can play the drums even better than he can play the guitar and he can play the guitar pretty darn good!

Well, Miss Addy is just over a month old and growing like a weed! Addy takes after her Dad because she loves the water. I am sure that she will be learning to swim next summer. She loves the Texas outfit Kristy sent her and a pink outfit from MiMi (Jennifer's Mom). The only pacifier that she liked was a University of Texas binki that our friends John and Jaime bought in the Austin airport. Unfortunately, Zeena liked it too! We are now interviewing new binkis! We aren't having much luck so I am considering flying to Austin to pick up another UT binki.

The dog (Zeena) and cat (Bindi) seem to be adjusting to the new baby and the new sounds! In fact, when the baby cries Zeena gets up and leaves the room. When I first got home from the hospital Zeena camped out in the guest bedroom with the Bindi. I know they were talking about the “new addition”. In fact, I am sure Zeena was glad to have an alibi. When we brought (Bindi) home Zeena was mortified. She was not sure why we would bring a stray cat from Colorado City (of all places) into her home. Of course, she has a bad track record with cats or should I say cats have a bad track record with her. Anyhow, the cat is safely contained in her indoor/outdoor cattery when Zeena is around. Nevertheless, they communicate through the cage and I can assure you they were both wondering what we saw in the pink bundle. I do have to admit it is the first time that Daron and I have loved something that small that hasn’t had four legs and fur!

I have been loving spending my days with Addy but I do look forward to seeing all my four legged babies at Best Friends. Addy is going to be so lucky to grow up with all of these animal friends!

Not to be outdone by her bff Madison, Addy has landed on the cover of Baby Magazine! At least in her daddy's computer...

Miss Addy went to the doctor for her two week check up on Wednesday April 9th. We took bets on how much weight she had gained and how much longer she had gotten. She started at 6 lb 1 oz and 18 3/4 inches. She weighed 7 lbs 13 oz and measured 20.5 inches. Luckily, she is getting bigger so she is able to fit better in her baby jogger and carrier. Mimi and Grandpa have been able to watch her so Mom can go teach yoga and run a few errands. I was going a wee bit stir crazy sitting home all the time. May should be a fun month - Daron's parents will be visiting, Daron turns 35 on the 16th, and KLo will be visiting us as well~
