Lisa's Bio:

Officer Lisa Nagle joined the Louisville Metro Police Department in 2007.  In 2009, she assisted the Indiana State Gaming Commission in one of their largest dog fighting busts that included the confiscation of 110 pit bulls.  To help educate others on animal abuse and dog fighting, Lisa has conducted presentations and trainings to area colleges, rescues, departments within Louisville Metro Government and to law enforcement departments throughout the state of Kentucky.  In February 2014, she spoke in front of the House Judiciary Committee in support of House Bill 408, which would make the possession of dog-fighting paraphernalia a crime.

My Aunt Mary, in frigid Minnesota, will be celebrating her 95th birthday 

on Friday, March 13th! So many fond memories of visits to see

the relatives in Minnesota and Aunt Mary always cooking up a storm and treating

us to her famous Chocolate Cake with nuts on top, home-made French Fries and Steak!!

Yum!!! Have a terrific birthday!! Hugs to all!!

Opal's Health Scare

I took Opal in to the vet yesterday when she wasn't feeling good and luckily my sister Lisa encouraged me to take her in! She just wasn't herself and I had a fear she was bleeding internally. After blood work, and xray and an ultrasound they discovered Opal has DIABETES! and her sugar was 500. Normal range 80 - 120. A little insulin and she greeted me like her old self this morning! Ahhhh. Thank goodness it wasn't internal bleeding.  Now my job is to watch her like a hawk and give her an insulin shot in the a.m. and p.m. so glad my baby girl is feeling better.

Daron tried a nibble, I ate most of them and Addy looked at us like we had three heads! My sister Lisa refused which makes sense since she is vegetarian. I think Jen 2 threw up a little in her mouth when the plate arrived.  However, they did have another friend that met us for dinner and she shared them with me!

What happened to January!?

Well this month seems to have flown by.  I have been volunteering in Addysons classroom the last hour of her school day.  It's been interesting to see how all the kids interact, to see how well many can read and write and do math!  I am planning an art show for my Friday Kids Art Discovery Class.  I took an adult art class yesterday on the basic and fundamentals of drawing.  It was a great refresher and nice to be a student for a change.  My Monday night Yoga classes are going well and my friend Char teaches an NLP and Faster EFT class before yoga.  They meld well together.  Google NLP and faster EFT to learn more.  Her class has really helped me rewire my way neural network. The one thought/emotion that was running for the past 4 or 5 years was "Am I going to have a migraine today?"  I took a section from an NLP site explaining a bit about neural networks. 

A neural network is a cluster of neurons connected together to form a "database" of encoded information such as thoughts, feelings, beliefs, programmed reactions, emotions and even physiological data.
Neural networks are the actual biological location of change. Change does not take place without re-wiring of existing neural connections or creating entirely new connections. This is why we literally "become" what we think about most of the time...
If we frequently ruminate about depressing thoughts, we are building a neurological data base for depression and experiencing everything that goes with it!

Blog Update by Mary Nagle! Woo Hoo

Went on a Wilderness Adventure Tour yesterday to a place called "Headwaters" with a
fantastic view of the Escalante Grand Staircase and the surrounding area.  Was neat until we reached a very steep and rocky ascent
near the top that promised views of the Petroglyphs and a cave entrance but I planted myself down to rest until the others returned. 
Too risky and the elevation made it hard to breathe.  Sound like an old person, I know, but preferred to spare the others having to
call in the medics.  Ha. Brian and I enjoyed the view and the sun on our faces just taking in the scenery and the quiet.

Since I have been here I have been enjoying Monday night "Tapping and Yoga classes" with Jennifer and her friend Char.  They teach
back to back classes at the library.  Would you believe that Char and her husband lived in Kalispell for a few years until the cold and long
winters got to them.  She was a California girl so she was longing for sun and warm after Montana.  She loved it but.................
Also, yesterday there was an additional passenger on our trek to the outback.  Her name is Mary Burk (maiden name).  A cute blond
that wowed us all.  She was/is from St. Louis, her Dad was corporate lawyer for Union Electric.  Anyway, we shared memories of favorite
restaurants and schools.  Would you  believe she went to St. Justin, the Martyr in Afton and used to play against the Seven Holy FLOUNDERS
as she recalled.  Ha.  Who knew the had a Volleyball team after we left.  She was/is from Webster Groves and went to Cor Jesu Academy.
Had many friends at Ursuline Academy. 
Anyway, nice gal who used to work for the St. Louis Zoo and now has been turning her attention to Best Friends.  We really enjoyed meeting
her and having her along. 
By the way, Best Friends got to ring the bell at the NYSE on the 23rd I think.  The honor was bestowed on them as "Thought Leaders"as they
are opening an office in NYC this coming month.  Daron will be making a few trips to the big city to get them set up as he is the Network
Engineer for Best Friends.  Again, watch for the link on Jen's blog. 
Well, the Andrews household has been busy listening to the sights and sounds of Addy's new XBOX, gifted to her by her Mom and Dad.
Last night Addy informed us that she was going to give her eyes a rest from MindCraft and the Lego game but this morning she relented and agonized over why she ever mentioned that she was giving it up for a day.  Ha.

Thanksgiving!

We had an untraditional Thanksgiving.  No turkey. Addy said she didn't want to kill a turkey (I don't know where she got that from). I only like eating a little turkey right out of the oven and since I can't have mayo anymore and am trying not to eat gluten a leftover turkey sandwich is out of the question.  Daron used to cook the turkey but he didn't want to this year.  So I made a wonderful potato, leek and artichoke heart casserole. Yum! Sweet potatoes with marshmallows that i thought addy would eat.  Turns out I was the only one who ate them.  I also made tomato and mozzarella crostini that all the visitors liked.   Darons parents sent some festive photos from  their Thanksgiving.  Daron, Addy and I had Amberly and her daughter Emily over and our friend Rachel over.  We played hangman, bingo and Emily and Addy showed us the dances they learned in dance class!
