Addy's Personal Trainer

Well, Grandpa has been Addy's personal trainer for the past month. She seems to not only love watching Grandpa doing his pilates but she likes taking part in the action. She is building up her muscles so she can start crawling early!

Addy LOVES the pool. Looking pool ready in her fabulous hat she patiently awaits her pool debut! Her first visit was with her Mimi and Father. Then I got to go with Addy and Mimi. It was so cool.























Addy LOVES LOVES LOVES her Aunt Lisa. She immediately took to her (which if any of you know Lisa it is no surprise) and would watch her and grin constantly. Lisa checked her email with Addy and she was thrilled just to be sitting next to her. Look at how her little feet are crossed. What a doll!




























Addy is quite smitten with her Grandpa. In fact, he has been doing pilates with her for the past few weeks. Mimi took some great photos of their training session which deserves a section all its own. So stay tuned for the pilates update.
























Last Saturday we attended Tibetan Chandts and Meditations for Healing with monks from Drepung Loseling Monastery. Following the September 11th tragedy the monks began offering these special healing ceremonies wherever they went on thier Mystical Arts of Tibet Tour. For an extra special touch the animals were invited to come and they performed a special prayer for them.






















Lisa and I had a chance to go to Zion and hike Angels Landing. After an hour and a half of hiking up, up and up we came to the last half mile. The last half mile was a narrow spine with a chain in the middle to hold onto. We were already about 1000 feet up and the last half mile would have taken us up to 1500 feet with no, absolutely no safety railings. Just a sheer drop off. There were tons of tourist doing this, many with out proper shoes and with no or little water. Amazingly enough only 5 people have fallen to their death in the past 10 years. Some man even took his 5 year old girl up there. There were California Condors hanging out on top of the highest point (they look kind of like turkey vultures) and we joked they were waiting for the carnage. Wondering if they were going to have Chinese, American or French cuisine tonight. Lisa and I decided we had too much to live for and turned around! We got a great 3 hour hike without the risk of falling to our death and ruining Lisa's vacation.























Daron, Lisa and I went to Casino night hosted by Best Friends. It was actually pretty cool since they rented authentic tables. Not to toot my own horn but I did pretty well in Texas Hold'em. The pilot for Best Friends, Juliette, is good friends with Lisa and she was a dealer on Casino night. She also came over for dinner one evening and we took a few photos!

Last weekend we took Addyson to some friends of our's birthday party for their 2 year old little girl, Gabriella. It was a beautiful day at Kanab's City Park which looks like a kid's PARADISE! I can't wait 'til Addy is a little older so we can play in the really cool pool (it is like a water park!) and run around on the grass outside the pool. Addy was an angel the whole time never screaming or crying, just taking in all the action and talking to another little girl about her age(named Meadow I think) about it all... This kid is definitely a keeper!

Bonafide sharpshooter and registered gun toter (Grandpa Nagle) and I went out Sunday morning to tear up some plastic bottles with my grandpa's old 22 rifle. It is the first gun I ever shot and my dad (Grandpa Andrews) came out and fixed it up on his last visit. It's still "true" after 100 years...

We've finally "arrived" in Kanab! Jen is now even more famous as seen here in our local paper, The Southern Utah News! As well, this is Addyson's first mention in any newspaper, but probably not her last. Have a read and you'll be as proud of Jennifer as I am.

Mom, Daron, Addy and I went to the Fourth of July Parade in downtown Kanab. Dad stayed home to eat breakfast and said he would meet us at the parade. Since Dad wasn't there Mom pretended to put her arm around him. We figured he would miss the whole parade but as you can see he made it!





















Mom and I went to St. George to buy clothes, baby stuff and house stuff. We bought Addy all sorts of cool toys and as you can see she looked at us as though she was far too sophisticated for twinkly, buzzing, singing, fluttering toys (or maybe she is wondering how she could be the offspring of two goofy, silly, crazy people)

Mary and Brian (Mom and Dad) made it safely to Kanab! I returned to work last week and it was fun. I am glad I am only working 3 days at the Sanctuary though because I miss Addy! It is great to be back among the animals though! Mom and Dad watched Addy and took her on many many walks. My Dad has her on a strength training program that includes tummy time. Dad is also cleaning up our yard front, back and sides. It is wonderful to get the weeds cut down and hopefully our lawn will turn green instead of brown. Mom played in a golf tournament with Daron and Jon on Saturday. She also took Zumba class two Sundays in a row. Addy and I joined her one Sunday but I was too tired to take the class this past Sunday and stuck with the elliptical machine. Zumba is a Latin dance type workout class and it is hard! Dad and Daron went to the shooting range and tried out his grandfathers 22. Apparently, my Dad is quite the marksman! We walked up to a mexican restaurant for dinner one evening and we thought Daron looked like a rock star in his sunglasses.

Oh, and BTW, I changed the settings so that any of our friends or family viewing the blog can post comments without having to sign up for the whole Blogger account and everything. I think it's a little quicker than emailing. We'll see how that goes...
 
 
 

First Fathers Day Celebration!

Daron, Addy and I celebrated Darons first fathers day as a father on Sunday. We walked to a local restaurant for breakfast and Addy sat with us in her baby jogger and was a complete angle. It is rare when both parents can eat at the same time! After breakfast Daron hit the golf course for the afternoon and then came home and grilled some steaks, boiled artichoke hearts, grilled corn on the cob and baked potatoes. I know it stinks that he had to cook his own fathers day meal but initially he held Addy and walked me through cleaning and lighting the grill, cleaning the potatoes and preparing the meal in general! Addy wore her Daddy Loves Me shirt in honor of fathers day and was exhausted after her morning out.
