Thank You!

Thank you to everyone who has purchased one of Addy's rooster prints.  She said "so I get this (holding the $20 bill) and they get that (pointing to the print)?  I said yes cool huh. And she said "ya". Unfortunately I cannot get her to pick up a brush now!  Ahh artist. Moody little buggers aren't they? 

Thanksgiving weekend

Thanksgiving 2015

Addy and Opal cuddle while Daron and I cook.  Table is set.  Addy and I took the dogs out for a morning hike.  Beautiful fall day.  We hosted five friends and talked so much and so loud that Addy had to go in the other room!  The food was wonderful! After dinner we painted ornaments :)

Fall time is family time. I definitely sound like a Utahan now.

Halloween 2015 with a 7 year old PHOENIX

I don't know what it is but I hate passing out candy. The large hordes of kids make me nervous I guess. Daron on the other hand loves it. He is GREAT at it. He played the music Thriller and dressed up as an ogre. He talked in a funny voice and even bit a skittle in half and offered a trick or treater the other half. They were stunned but the 8 year old standing behind the first trick or treater was cracking up. His mask had eyes really far apart so he acted like he couldn't find the bag and would drop candy on the ground always missing the bags exclaiming "I can't see so well." This is funny because in most social situation he never wants to go and I do and as he says "you know everyone in town." Luckily we balance each other out! Addyson was very gracious thanking me for making her outfit. Many of her classmates thought she was a turkey or chicken (which I was afraid of) but Addy just explained she was a Phoenix and what a Phoenix was. I purposely didn't put any brown feathers. I wanted to put some black but Addy had the vision and wanted only yellow, orange and red. That is what is so great about her she knows EXACTLY what she wants.

Canyon to Canyon Street Festival and Red Rocktoberfest

I am exhausted after three months of planning for the Canyon to Canyons Street Festival. Contacting business owners and artists was my job as well as recruiting volunteers and helping with chalk signs. The five other Kanab City Art Council members had a long to do list as well such as lining up all the bands and performers (sound systems etc) and after this we are all still friends! Luckily, it was a HUGE success and I think a big part of the reason is everyone in the community worked together. We worked with the Tourism/Visitors Center who did tackled the printing and advertising as well as shuttles for the festival. The Volunteer office supplied and set up 100's of chairs, tables, fire pits, heat lamps and torches and events/parking signage and the funding for straw bales and wagon rides. It rained for days prior to the event but the day of the event was PERFECT! There wasn't a wind, the temp was perfect, it was awesome!
